Samsung introduced three different soundbar sound systems at CES, namely the HW-Q990C, HW-S800B and HW-G60C. Let's see what the 2023 Samsung soundbar models offer.
The HW-Q990C, one of the Samsung soundbar sound systems introduced at CES 2023, is the peak model, but it is the successor of the HW-Q990B, which came out in 2022. The HW-S800B, which replaces the HW-S800A, stands out with its subtlety, while the HW-G60C appears as a gaming-oriented soundbar. Let's see what are the prominent features of the 2023 Samsung soundbar models.
HW-Q990C: 11.1.4 channel soundbar with Dolby Atmos
The Samsung HW-Q990C soundbar has the same 11.1.4-channel audio capability as last year's model, but it is predicted to offer better sound quality with new and improved audio drivers.
There are 9 sound channels in the soundbar; 3 from the front, 4 from the sides, and 2 from the top. The soundbar comes with Q-Symphony 3.0. In addition, AI Sound Remastering is built-in, which uses artificial intelligence that rearranges each sound object to help make the sounds clear, surround you with environmental sounds, and ensure that each component provides the right sound.
HW-Q800B (2023)
According to Samsung's press release, one of the three new soundbars announced at CES 2023 is the HW-Q800B. However, this model is already on sale in many countries, including Turkey. Assuming that the brand moves forward as A for 2021 and B for 2022, the name of the new model should actually be HW-Q800C. Of course, the company may not have changed its name. For example; Samsung's smart monitor M8 was also renewed but introduced with the same name.
The HW-Q800B (2023) carries the same 3.1.2-channel audio setup as last year's model. Samsung notes that the soundbar is quite thin with a length of 40mm, a depth of 38mm. The high-end model HW-Q990C features Q-Symphony 3.0 and AI Sound Remastering
HW-G60C: Samsung's first gaming-oriented soundbar
One of the ideal soundbard models for gamers, the Samsung HW-G60C is designed for use with a PC, but it can also be used on TVs thanks to HDMI/ARC, USB, AirPlay 2 connectivity. The soundbar houses microphones with echo cancellation. There is no information about the sound channels of the soundbar that comes with LED lighting, but considering that it is based on the HW-S60B model, it may have a 5.0-channel audio installation.
Prices have not been announced
Samsung did not disclose the price of all three soundbar models. The HW-Q990C will go on sale in Australia in the first quarter of 2023. The HW-800B is already on sale. Information about the release date of the HW-G60C was not shared.
